The game survived during the Middle Ages. It shared certain features and rules with the game of craps we play today. Hazard was a dice game played by Crusaders back in the 12th century. It is believed that craps originate from an English dice game called Hazard. Yet, it does not mean that we know nothing about the origins of craps.
However, there is no evidence that the game Roman soldiers played really influenced what we know as craps today. Games of chance that use dice have been popular since Roman times.
